Joint CMOS, CGU and ESC Conference 2022

June 1st marks the opening day of The Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society's (CMOS) 56th Congress, the Canadian Geophysical Union's (CGU) Annual Meeting, and the 78th Eastern Snow Conference (ESC). The joint conference will be held virtually, from June 1st to June 3rd, and from June 6th through June 8th. As one might expect from the largest conference for atmospheric, ocean and Earth scientists in Canada, the session topics are broad, from the Arctic atmosphere to tectonics, remote sensing, coastal oceanography and engineering solutions for adaptation and mitigation. The wide and varied program includes a substantial focus on climate and other kinds of services.

PCIC's team has been working behind the scenes to lead the development of the scientific program, which will include over 550 presentations. PCIC researchers will be among those presenting and PCIC will have a virtual both at the conference.

There is an exciting line-up of plenary speakersĀ for each day and there will be a free public talk on June 2nd, delivered by Dr. Eric Oliver of Dalhousie University, on Bridging knowledge systems: Scientific and Inuit knowledge of the ocean and sea ice.

Registration for the conference is still open.
