Prospects for a revenue-neutral tax swap in America

Bob Inglis, former Republican Congressman for South Carolina and current director of the Energy and Enterprise Initiative, will survey the centre-right political landscape in America and discuss prospects for conservative support of a revenue-neutral carbon tax. American progressives promote climate and energy policies that grow government. Without a limited-government approach on the table, many conservatives have taken to rejecting the existence of a market failure. The tax swap is a pro-growth, limited-government approach, which invites fuels and energy technologies to compete on their merits instead of on their ability to attract political patronage or socialize their costs. Mr. Inglis will discuss his efforts to build conservative support for the tax swap as an alternative to, in his words, "clumsy government mandates and fickle tax incentives."
